Introduction: Collateral Interview in Social Work Practice

Conducting effective and person-centered collateral interviews forms an important part of social work practice. During this session we will define the nature and purpose of conducting collateral interviews, as well as discuss important ethical considerations such as consent during the collateral process. We will discuss how to start the interview process, how to clarify the referral question, determine the context of the problem, and the effect of the problem through collateral interviewing. Specific focus will also be given to parent interviews, school interviews, and collaborating with other professionals throughout the process.

Who this course is for:  Social Workers, Psychologist, Play Therapist and Registered Counsellors and Teacher’s.
